I'd like to get your input. Labels produced using the older versions of the NFPA 70E listed both PPE category as well as calories. For example a label could say 4.5 calories per square centimeter plus Category 2 PPE. The issue is the new standard prohibits listing both.
So my question is: Do you think it's necessary to update older labels so that only one of the two is listed? Please assume that nothing has changed in the facility so the electrical system is the same as when the study was done.

You don't need to change labels that are still valid. As you do put new labels out, you'll want the new labels to list the incident energy. You can add in a site specific classification for the PPE needed, which can coincidentally happen to have the same number designation as the tables method.
