Post subject:  Wearing Arc Rated Clothing – Hazard less than 1.2 cal/cm^2

Arc rated clothing is to be worn when the incident energy level is greater than 1.2 cal/cm^2. NFPA 70E specifically states:

130.7(C)(6) Body Protection. Employees shall wear arc-rated clothing whenever there is possible exposure to an electric arc flash above the threshold incident energy level for a second-degree burn [1.2 cal/cm^2]

Here is the first question of the week for 2021:

Do you/employees/clients wear arc rated clothing around electrical hazards LESS THAN 1.2 cal/cm^2?
No
Yes – sometimes
Yes - always

Stories are always welcome!

Happy New Year!
